The Smithsonian has launched a new Collections Search Center on their website. You can search "over 2 million records with 265,900 images, video and sound files, electronic journals and other resources from the Smithsonian's museums, archives & libraries":

A date slider in the faceted browser allows you to limit searches to the 1800s or to any other decade-by-decade range. Putting in "victorian" as a search term, though, I turned up some marvelous stuff, including a series of Pythonesque Victorian collages.
