Photo of the week: Thoreau’s home in Concord

This house, built in 1849, was Henry David Thoreau’s home between 1850 and 1862, and was added to the Historic Register in 1976. It was also the home of novelist Louisa May Alcott, her sister and her father. The photo comes from a collection of images in the New York Public Library Digital Gallery called “The Pageant of America.”
