Library of Congress images on Flickr RSS

If you haven't already investigated the Library of Congress' photostream on Flickr, I highly recommend it. Their set of Illustrated Newspaper Supplements make for great browsing, and there's also an irresistible collection of 'Great Moustaches'.

Update: shorpy.com is another online archive of photos from the Library of Congress collection. Many of these pictures fall within the 'long nineteenth century" and may be of use in making NINES Exhibits.

See especially the Civil War Photos, and Railroads sets.

Yet another update: NINES is in the process of adding all nineteenth-century content from the Library of Congress. Making an exhibit is even easier now that you can collect, tag and annotate these images!
